The Sportscar Auction Company Ltd. in FL Triesen was founded in 1987. Between 1988 and 1991 the company carried out four major and very successful auctions in Geneva, two in Interlaken and as a partner of Mitsubishi and Blackhawk Collection two large exhibitions and auctions in Tokyo in 1991 and 1992. Due to the economical and classic car market situation it was not possible to organize further auctions. The Company, however, continued to exist with the goal to organize auctions in the future when the car market has recovered. Fifteen years later we have decided to start up the activities again and organize at least one yearly auction in Geneva.
This year in spring it was announced by Geneva Palexpo that an important exhibition of classic cars was to be organised in October, similar to the Retromobile in Paris. The board members of Geneva Classics asked us to organize an important and quality car auction as part of this exhibition. As we had already planned to enter the auction business again we agreed to held this auction on a long term partnership with Geneva Classics.
Many classic car fan?s might still remember the brilliant auctions of the years 1988 to 1991 in the hotel “La Réserve” in Bellevue near Geneva. These auctions were performed in the American style, a novelty for Europe. It is planned to carry out the upcoming auction in the same style again. Despite the limited time we had to set up the 2006 auction, we are proud to present a wide choice of interesting and of superior quality sports cars. As in the past we will carry out the auction in cooperation with two well-known American companies, namely RM Auctions, Blenheim and Blackhawk Collection, Danville.
On 7th October 2006 we hope to welcome many of the former participants in Geneva as well as a great number of new collectors and Sportscar enthusiasts.
